Loose Diamonds Proportions:

Loose Diamonds with "Good" proportions are the most widely sold in the world. They represent the majority of loose diamonds that are manufactured and have mass appeal by diamond experts and consumers because of the following reasons:

  1. Loose Diamonds that are reasonably priced.
  2. Loose Diamonds with good proportions are well cut, only slightly less than a premium cut.
  3. When they are in a setting, even experts have difficulty telling the difference.

Ideal Cut Diamond Proportions:

When one says that a diamond has ideal proportion, it means that each individual part is shaped perfectly in relation to the stone as a whole. These stones are in the top 3-5% of all diamonds that are cut today. Achieving this ideal state is the result of special attention to cutting details and making it a priority when manufacturing a stone.
As shown in the diagram below (insert image for good, fine, premium, ideal) the most basic way to judge proportions are the areas on a loose diamond such as the table, crown, girdle and pavilion.
